Native American rugs and blankets have historically been woven with Churro. Good for those who want to spin their own sturdy yarn and perfect for authentic Navajo weaving.
The yarn produced from the wool of the Churro is very durable and long lasting with a beautiful sheen. Churro yarn produces excellent tapestries & rugs. The slight fuzziness of the yarn gives lines a gentle blur. Churro is a great choice for rugs because of its strength. It is also used for weaving other traditional blankets and shawls.
Our churro wool top is produced in New Mexico.

I liked this product. I am used to spinning Icelandic wool from fleece I wash, card, and clean, so I expect to find little bits of plant material in wool. This was pretty clean and I was pleasantly surprised at how easy this product was to spin. I use a Navajo spindle and am spinning with a lot of twist to weave in the Navajo way and this worked out very well. I will buy it again.
Full of neps & VM. I would not consider this excellent quality.
