Nantucket Rug Hooking with J. Taylor: a beginner's guide covering hooking techniques using yarn, fabric and other materials, designing your own projects, finishing and care, plus all about shearing, processing and spinning yarn. Award winning video. 28 minutes. DVD only. $24.95.

Rug Brading with Verna: This comprehensive video teaches the basic techniques in making a traditional hand-hooked rug from planning to completion. Traditional hand hooked rugs are made from strips of wool fabric, and the hook is held above the surface, the wool strip below and it is pulled to the surface, forming a loop. This is different from the more contemporary "punch needle" approach. You will learn ways to dye fabrics, color tips, and finishing & backing tips that are unique to hooked rugs with braided edges.
